Understanding your invoice and renewal dates

Every invoice is in Billing → Invoices, downloadable as a PDF, and each line names the service and the period it covers.

Here is what the parts mean, and why a total sometimes changes.

Why the amount is different this time

Your first invoice includes the setup fee. The one-time Launch fee is billed once, when you approve your design. After that, each invoice is your monthly subscription — plus the Growth Engine, if you added it.

Tax. GST/HST is charged at your provincial rate as a separate line. A registered business can enter its GST/HST number in Billing → Details and claim it back as an input tax credit.

Currency. We bill in Canadian dollars. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts it and adds their own spread — which is why your statement rarely matches the invoice to the cent.

Renewal dates and notices

We email before each renewal. Those go to the billing address on the account, so make sure it is one you actually read.

Your subscription renews automatically each month, and your standard domain renewal is included in it — there is nothing separate to remember.

Paying

Credit card, Interac e-Transfer and PayPal. A card on file is used automatically for renewals; a card that has expired looks exactly like no card at all, so update it before it lapses.

Failed payment does not suspend anything immediately. We retry for a few days and email you each time.

Receipts your accountant will accept

The PDF invoice includes our legal name, our GST/HST registration number, the service dates and the tax breakdown. That is everything a Canadian accountant needs.

Need a different billing name or address on it — a corporation rather than your own name? Change it in Billing → Details before the next invoice generates. We can also reissue a past one; just ask.

Cancelling

Billing → Services → Cancel, either immediately or at the end of the current term. Choosing the end of term is nearly always right: you keep what you have paid for.

Take a copy of anything you want to keep before the account closes. After cancellation the data is gone, and we cannot get it back for you.
