This policy explains the cookies MyEasyBase Technology Inc. sets when you visit this website, what each one is for, and the services on our pages that set cookies of their own. It sits alongside our privacy policy, which covers the personal information we hold.
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so the site can recognise your browser on the next page. Browsers can also keep similar data in "local storage"; where a service on our pages does that, we say so below.
The short version
- We set two cookies, and the site needs both to work.
- We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run analytics that track you across other websites.
- The live chat and the videos in some articles come from other companies, who set their own cookies under their own policies.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time.
Cookies we set
| Cookie | What it is for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
myeasybase-session |
Keeps track of your visit from page to page: what is in your cart, your answer to "Was this helpful?" under an article, and, for our staff, staying signed in. It holds a random identifier; the details stay on our servers. | Until two hours after your last page |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Protects our forms against cross-site request forgery, so another website cannot send a form here in your name. | Until two hours after your last page |
Both are strictly necessary: without them the cart empties on every page and forms cannot be sent. Because of that, they are set without asking first. Neither is used to follow you on other websites, and neither is shared with anyone.
Services on our pages that set their own
Live chat. The chat window is provided by tawk.to. It sets its own cookies and keeps data in local storage so that a conversation carries on from page to page and between visits. What tawk.to collects is covered by its own privacy policy.
Videos in articles. Some posts and guides embed a video from YouTube or Vimeo. YouTube videos are embedded in its privacy-enhanced mode, in which YouTube says it does not store information about you unless you play the video. Vimeo videos are embedded with Vimeo's "do not track" setting turned on. Once you play a video, the provider's own cookie policy applies.
Form protection. Our forms, and the staff sign-in, are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a form is being sent by a person rather than a bot. Cloudflare designed Turnstile to do this without cookies: it reads technical signals from your browser for the check and passes us a one-time result. Cloudflare's own privacy policy covers what those signals are.
What we do not use
- Advertising cookies. We do not show ads, and we do not let advertising networks place cookies here.
- Cross-site tracking. We do not use social media pixels or tracking scripts that follow you to other websites.
- Analytics cookies. We count how often an article is read on our own servers, without a cookie and without identifying you.
Your choices
Every browser lets you see the cookies a website has set, delete them, and block them, for one site or for all. Your browser's help pages show where those settings are.
If you block our two cookies, the cart and the forms on this website will not work. Blocking the live chat's or a video provider's cookies does not affect the rest of the site; the chat may simply start a new conversation on every page.
Changes to this policy
If we start using a new cookie, or a new service that sets one, we will add it here and update the effective date at the top.
